I love to celebrate the British wild flowers and plants that I find whilst walking in the countryside in South Devon and on Dartmoor. In just a short stretch of hedgerow there can be an amazing variety of colours and forms to be seen! Often I depict plants and flowers growing in their natural habit- cheek by jowl; intertwined. I also paint landscapes, natural history subjects and abstracts.

I began working in watercolour when I joined a botanical art class in 2009. In the intervening years I have continued to learn whilst raising a family and working. There is so much more still to learn- every new plant I paint needs investigating and different techniques will be explored to establish how to best illustrate it.

I have several paintings included in 'Exotic Botanical Illustration' (2012) and 'Botanical Illustration for beginners: a step-by-step guide' (2015), both written by Rosie Martin and Meriel Thurstan.

I am a member of the South West Society of Botanical Artists (SWSBA). In 2018 I exhibited as part of a SWSBA group at the RHS in London and we were awarded a silver medal for Botanical Art.
I am a painting member of the Eden Project Florilegium Society in Cornwall.
I am a member of the Granite Elements Group that are associated with Yarner Woods on Dartmoor. We study botanical specimens at Yarner Wood and create responses to them. I exhibited with the Manaton Makers at Devon Open Studios from 2014 to 2021.

I exhibited 7 paintings at the RHS London Art and Photography Show in July 2019. My exhibition title was 'The River Dart: Moor to Sea' and illustrated a number of the plants that grow within the different habitats that the River Dart flows through from where it rises on Dartmoor to its end at Dartmouth on the coast. The habitats included bog/mire, ancient woodland, moorland, hedgerow, farmland, urban and coast. I was delighted to have been awarded an RHS silver-gilt medal.

In 2020 I designed and painted an otter sculpture for the Dartmoor National Park 'Moor Otters' project which was subsequently postponed due to Covid-19.
My otter 'Mayflower' was part of the Mayflower Trail in Plymouth commemorating 400 (401!) years since the sailing of the Mayflower from Plymouth to America and was located on the Barbican in Plymouth. My design incorporated mayflowers and hawthorn and a seascape with the ship on the back of the otter. Photos of Mayflower can be seen in the Projects section of my website.

In 2023 I have exhibited with the South West Society of Botanical Artists at the RHS Botanical Art and Photography Show at the Saatchi Gallery in London where we were awarded an RHS silver medal. I exhibited with SWSBA at Birdwood House Gallery in Totnes, Devon in July.

I sell my cards, prints and originals directly through exhibitions and events. Alternatively, my cards are available from the Silver Lion Jewellers in Ashburton, Paradiso Gallery in Bovey Tracey and the Village Shop in Broadhempston. For any other enquiries please contact me directly.
